System Overview
AirCast is a revolutionary information system that enables hoteliers to distribute information to their guests via one or more interactive TV channels dedicated to hotel-specific information. AirCast works on any coaxial TV network with the only in-room requirement being an integrated digital television (iDTV) such as those already used to receive Freeview channels in the UK, and so there’s no need for any card or set-top box in the room.A specially configured PC Player will be installed within your business, somewhere near the aerial equipment.
At its core, the AirCast system is based on tried and tested interactive technology used by broadcasters for services such as BBC Red Button, Teletext and Sky Text on Freeview, which guests are already familiar with.
AirCast provides a way to reduce costs by removing the need for printed in-room literature, and also to generate additional revenues through engaging promotion of products, services and facilities available at the hotel.
As AirCast is truly interactive, guests can quickly and easily navigate through defined sections and pages to access the information they want, when they want; and the pages themselves can be custom designed to meet a hotel’s brand or style.
The type of information that can be made available to guests via the TV is wide-ranging, including live feeds - such as News, Sports and Weather - together with videos images and standard hotel information or current promotions.
Setup & Installation
It really couldn’t be easier to setup and install AirCast. If your network is already receiving digital TV signals, such as Freeview channels, then the AirCast server will simply plug-in, without the need to upgrade the network; and even if you are not receiving digital signals directly (e.g. your signal is derived from satellite), then chances are that we can still offer a ‘plug-n-play’ installation. All you need to have are digital ready televisions.
Ordering AirCast
The AirCast system is available for outright purchase or rental over 3, 4 and 5 years. When you purchase the system we include all the necessary server hardware, the software configuration and the installation on to your existing coax TV network. The system software is licenced to the hotel on a per room, per month basis.
