Marriott AC Belfast

The AC Hotel by Marriott is Belfast's newest waterfront hotel; situated on Donegall Quay in Belfast's harbour area, the hotel's 187 bedrooms are situated over 9 floors. 

The hotel's contemporary design is married with luxurious bedrooms - including king size beds, coffee machines and glass-enclosed double showers. Airwave was approached to provide a premium guest-room technology solution in keeping with the hotel's premium rooms.

Airwave supplied and installed 193 x Samsung 49" HGEE690 SMART TVs and a small number of 55" and 65" HGEE690 screens into superior rooms and suites. 

"Samsung's 690 Series TVs suited our brief perfectly, however in order to provide guests with home-from-home technology, we needed to provide complementary technology" said Airwave's David Taylor.

Airwave implemented a hospitality-certified Chromecast solution, installing security brackets and software to enable the units to operate in a multi-room environment.

"We have to assume that guests will arrive with at least one, possibly more portable devices" said Paul Chambers, Airwave Sales Director "a Chromecast system enables the guest to cast their own content on the room's big screen - particularly useful for streaming services such as Netflix and Amazon Prime."

To fully complete an all-singing, all-dancing in-room technology experience, Airwave commissioned an Otrum Enterprise interactive information system.

Otrum's system is the segment leader in functionality, stability and ease of use, providing guests with an interactive information portal. This provides housekeeping details such as restaurant opening times and hotel facilities but can also provide more sophisticated and dynamic information such as weather conditions and local airport flight times.

Otrum can also provide detailed guest analytics, statistics and reporting whilst offering revenue generation through online stores and room-service. Aiding operational efficiency, it also enables housekeepers to communicate room status via the TV, facilitating early check-ins and room resale.

Supporting the the hotel's new technology infrastructure, Airwave also installed a new head-end.
