The Hotel
The Holiday Inn Dover is a 4-star hotel nestled in landscaped gardens, conveniently situated near Dover's Ferry Port, the iconic White Cliffs, and Dover Castle. Ideal for travellers heading to the continent or exploring Kent, the property offers 68 air-conditioned rooms equipped with free Wi-Fi, power showers, and modern amenities.
Dining options include the on-site Bella Italia restaurant, the Junction Bar & Grill, and a Starbucks café. And for events and business needs, the hotel provides multiple function spaces, including a Grand Marquee accommodating up to 400 guests.
The Technology
Holiday Inn Dover faced a common challenge: how to enhance and refresh the in-room entertainment experience without a costly rip-and-replace of the existing TV hardware. The solution? A smart partnership with Airwave, championing a more sustainable approach.
Instead of discarding their current estate of television displays, the hotel opted for a digital-led transformation powered by Airwave's integration of the cloud-based Uniguest Hotel Hub platform across the existing guestroom TVs. This approach saved significant capital expenditure and avoided unnecessary electronic waste, making it an inherently sustainable solution.
The legacy television infrastructure was cleverly reimagined into a fully interactive, custom-branded interface, promising guests a seamless, engaging TV experience.


Underpinning Holiday Inn's digital evolution, Airwave deployed an EasyStream IPTV headend, ensuring the delivery of high-quality live TV channels over IP for crisp and reliable viewing.
Airwave implemented Airtime, a cloud-based streaming service built exclusiverly for hospitality, on each TV, offering guests premium video-on-demand access to a library of movie & programing content—including early-release blockbuster movies.
This intelligent combination of robust infrastructure and intuitive software successfully refreshed Holiday Inn Dover's television system, extending its lifespan and enhancing the guest experience.
