Occupying an enviable position in the West End of London's Bloomsbury district, The Academy consists of five Georgian townhouses, delicately knitted together to form one luxury hotel. A member of the prestigious Small Luxury Hotels of the World collection, the Academy underwent a recent multi-million pound refurbishment, overseen by New York's, Alexandra Champalimaud.
Champalimaud's work has created a blend of vintage (with a nod to the lives of those who lived and worked in the area in the early 20th Century), traditional and modern - the latter of which, Airwave was delighted to assist with.
Recommending displays from LG's hospitality TV portfolio, Airwave flat-to-wall mounted 43-inch US662H Series displays and 55-inch UR762H Series displays across the three floors of each of the five townhouses.
Each display is managed by a Otrum Mirage guestroom entertainment platform, which delivers a number of additional features to the guestroom TVs. Airwave's design technicians created a branded GUI, including:
- TV channel line-up management
- Fully customisable information pages, with online editor
- Native TV apps
- Commercially certified Google Chromecast
Google Chromecast was implemented on each TV, enabling guests to cast content from their portable device, to the guestroom TV - opening up the various content libraries of streaming services such as Netflix, Amazon Prime, BBC iPlayer, YouTube etc.
