Based in Dublin,  the Staycity Group is Europe’s leading independent aparthotel operator, offering quality short-term and long-term aparthotel lettings in 10 central city locations.

Operating the Staycity Aparthotels brand, and the premium Wilde Aparthotels by Staycity, Staycity properties consist of studio, one and two-bedroom apartments. Each apartment offers 24-hour reception, a kitchen or kitchenette, dining & sitting areas, as well as guest laundry facilities and weekly housekeeping

The Property 

Staycity Greenwich sits amidst the leafy parks and maritime history of South East London's Greenwich, a short stroll from the Cutty Sark, the Royal observatory, Greenwich train station and London's DLR line. 

The building is set across 3-storeys, and contains 68 studio, and one bedroom apartments.

The Technology

"Think apartment + hotel. That means all the comfort and flexibility of home" - Staycity.

Key to Staycity's product proposition is the provision of a home-from-home experience, and on that basis, Airwave was approached to provide a TV entertainment system to provide exactly that.

Key to this home-from-home TV experience is the provision of OTT content, such as streaming services (Netflix, Amazon Prime etc) and catch-up TV (BBC iPlayer, ITV Hub etc).

This content is provided via hospitality certified Google Chromecast, embedded within an Otrum Mirage guest entertainment platform. Staycity asked Airwave's interactive design team to implement a simple, but intuitive interface, featuring three options:

- Watch TV

- Chromecast

- Connect to WiFi

Staycity's guest entertainment platform (due to be rolled out soon at Staycity properties in Birmingham, Liverpool and Edinburgh) was fronted by wall-mounted 43-inch LG662H hospitality TVs, all enjoying the splendour of a new headend.
