Stretch Signage at Malmaison

Malmaison is a collection of 15 unique boutique hotels in the UK. Operating within the luxury/lifestyle end of the market, the hotel chain looks for "continuous innovation" to address the evolving needs of its executive travellers.
With that in mind, Malmaison Leeds approached Airwave to discuss a technology solution that would create a "lasting first impression."
"Malmaison Leeds boasts an impressive glass-fronted atrium" said signage expert Charles Mupfurutsa "a display installed in the atrium would be seen from quite a distance by arriving guests and passing members of the public" - however the structure of Malmaison's atrium made the install of traditional LFD screens difficult, with the stairs leading into the hotel surrounded by long, thin walls.
Step forward LG's 86 inch Ultra Stretch Pillar display The LG 86BH5C screens can be mounted in both landscape and portrait format, enabling Airwave to "frame" the entrance of the hotel with digital displays.
Further enhancing the wow factor, the screens display ultra high definition content (in a new 58:9 format) and can run four different sets of content at the same time . As an example, the Malmaison install ( 3 x 86BH5C screens) can display a multitude of different combinations of content, from one feed across all three screens to sixteen different feeds across the displays.
This affords Malmaison an almost limitless set of design possibilities, ensuring that the "lasting first impression" remit is well and truly delivered!
To run and schedule the content, Airwave recommended a Onelan CMS to run the screens in conjunction with a Datapath FX4/H video wall controller - this clever bit of kit identifies the configuration of screens and plays content accordingly.
