Part of the Hilton Worldwide Group (boasting a global coverage of 270,000 rooms in 2,700 hotels) the Hampton hotel brand is one of the fastest growing hotel chains in the UK, offering mid-market accommodation and limited food and beverage facilities.
The newly constructed Hampton by Hilton Ashford International, is situated seconds away from Ashford International train station, servicing Eurostar trains from London St.Pancras to the continent.
With 140 rooms set over 6 storeys, Hampton's latest property forms a key part of the "Victoria Point project," the regeneration of an area to make best use of the station's prime location, between the capital and the channel tunnel.
Featuring modern rooms, a fitness center and conferencing facilities, Hampton Ashford expects to receive an equal ratio of business and leisure travellers.
After having installed an IPTV headend, to enable the delivery of Freeview channels to the hotel's guest-rooms, Airwave wall-mounted a mixture of 49 and 55-inch Samsung HGET690 hospitality series TVs.
Adding extra features and functionality to the TVs, Airwave implemented a Samsung REACH interactive information system, providing a graphical user interface (GUI) and menu system on each TV. Airwave designed a number of branded pages, providing hotel information and a vehicle to intuitively navigate the series of pages - this included a dedicated button, leading to the cloud-based movie-on-demand service, Airtime.
