The Hotel
Located in the scenic town of Henley-on-Thames, the Greenlands Hotel offers a unique experience on the banks of the River Thames. This historic mansion, formerly the residence of W.H. Smith, has been transformed into a 100-room hotel, providing modern accommodation in a beautiful, sprawling setting.
The Hotel is home of Henley Business School, part of the University of Reading, creating a distinctive blend of hospitality and academic activity and providing a comfortable environment for both leisure and business guests.
Greenlands Hotel features well-appointed guest rooms, a restaurant, and comprehensive conference facilities. Its riverside location offers a 30-acre escape amidst landscaped gardens, mature trees, and picturesque views.
The Challenge
Greenlands Hotel wanted to elevate its in-room entertainment to match its prestigious setting and the demands of today's tech-savvy travellers.
Key objectives included the implementation of PMS integration, content casting, and a simple, intuitive guest experience.
The Technology
Airwave delivered a transformative solution with the Uniguest Hub interactive TV platform. This powerful, cloud-based platform enabled Greenlands to collaborate with Airwave's design engineers to craft a truly bespoke in-room experience. Features include:
- A curated, customisable line-up of TV and radio channels
- A multiday EPG (electronic programme guide).
- Casting: allowing guests to cast services such as Netflix, Spotify, and YouTube on the in-room TV.
- Enhanced guest engagement via Information pages showcasing hotel amenities, guest services, and QR code driven interactive surveys.
The Uniguest Hub service was deployed on 32 and 43-inch LG hospitality series TVs, mounted flat-to-wall to maximise space and maintain the rooms’ simple and functional aesthetic.
It was an absolute pleasure working with Airwave. They were so helpful, guiding us with advice, recommendations and support—enabling us to provide the best possible TV entertainment platform for our valued guests.
