The Resort
Catch the perfect wave at Lost Shore Surf Resort, the world's first inland surf destination, just 25 minutes from Edinburgh.
Designed to blend adventure tourism with sustainable practices and luxurious accommodations, the state-of-the-art facility is Europe's largest wave pool and the first customised wave generation technology for surfing.
Set within a scenic 60-acre country park, Lost Shore offers 53 luxury accommodation units, consisting of hilltop lodges and waterfront pods & lodges.
A waterfront bar, café, and restaurant, Canteen, all showcase the best in Scotland's food and drink scene, and a wellness studio provides tired surfers with a bit of respite.
The Technology
Surfing is exhilarating, but physically demanding. With this in mind, Lost Shore has gone all out to provide a cosy and comfortable accommodation experience. Designed with families and groups in mind, the accommodation offers a sanctuary away from the waves, providing a true home-away-from-home experience.
No home environment experience is complete without a TV entertainment system that offers depth and breadth of content, allowing wave weary surfers to unwind in front of the TV.
Ensuring every moment of downtime is as enjoyable as possible, Lost Shore has partnered with Airwave to deliver top-tier TV technology across the resort.
The system features:
Sky TV - Sky's Bright Box technology provides premium HD television content via a central location (no need for in-room hardware).
Uniguest Hub - Hub's guest room entertainment platform lets guests watch their own content on the in-room TV, opening up the universe of streaming services such as Netflix, Disney, YouTube, and Amazon Prime.
Armed with the streaming giants' bustling content libraries, guests can while away the evening hours in front of the TV - a YouTube marathon, a box set binge, a Spotify session, or simple catch-up TV session, it's all about the choice, all at the guests' fingertips...
Uniguest Hub’s interface also replaces the traditional paper-based compendium, presenting all essential resort information directly on the in-room TV. Lost Shore’s interface includes:
- A 'Watch TV' service with multiday electronic programme guide
- A resort map
- A list of services and amenities
- Live weather updates
- Online restaurant menus
For ultra-convenience, on-screen QR codes make it easy to book a table at the resort's restaurant and download the guest information pack.
Samsung hospitality series TVs - Airwave recommended Samsung AU800 Series displays, flat-to-wall mounting a mixture of 32, 43, and 50-inch displays in the resorts bedrooms and living rooms.
Uniguest Hub Digital Signage - Airwave implemented a Uniguest Hub digital signage service, connected to displays in the resort's communal areas.
I've been into surfing ever since I watched 'Point Break' in the 90s, so was truly delighted to assist Lost Shore in the implementation of their new TV system. It's an incredible venue and I thoroughly recommend a visit.
