Pan Pacific London

The Brand

Based in Singapore, Pan Pacific Hotels Group (PPHG) owns and/or manages more than 50 prestigious hotels, resorts and serviced suites in 31 cities across Asia, Oceania, North America and Europe.

Comprising of three brands,  Pan Pacific, PARKROYAL COLLECTION, and PARKROYAL, PPHG provides luxury, lifestyle accommodation with an emphasis on wellness, sincerity and trust.

Pan Pacific London marks PPHG's long awaited entry into the European market.

The Hotel

Designed by world renowned Yabu Pushelberg, Pan Pacific London provides a luxurious sanctuary in the heart of the City of London, fusing innovation and understated luxury, and offering an immersive, vibrant guest experience.

Looking resplendent in a 43-storey bronze landmark tower at One Bishopsgate Plaza, the 237-room hotel combines architecture, contemporary design and an unparalleled hospitality offering - featuring five world class F&B venues, led by multi award-winning Executive Chef Lorraine Sinclair.

Other facilities include an 18th floor Signature Suite, indoor infinity pool, mindfulness studio, spa and fitness centre, and a ballroom accommodating up to 370 guests.

The Technology

A luxury property requires a luxury guest-room entertainment system, and Airwave was asked to implement a modern, guest-friendly system that would provide a home-from-home experience and a wealth of content options.

Having completed all the necessary satellite and aerial infrastructure implementation, 55-inch Samsung ET690U Hospitality Series displays were chosen and wall-mounted on swivel & tilt bracket technology, providing optimum viewing flexibility in the hotel's spacious guest-rooms.

The ET690U series offer UHD resolution and HDR10+ picture refinement technology, providing a crisp, clear and memorable viewing experience.

Otrum's Mirage interactive information system was embedded on each display, providing an intelligent platform for the customisation of each TV's  guest-user interface. This was integrated with a PMS, enabling a number of extra features, including personalised welcome messages upon a guest's entry to the room.

The interface provides guests with a series of information pages, including useful hotel info, F&B details, local weather conditions and access to a "Connect Your Device" page, incorporating hospitality certified Google Chromecast. Chromecast offers guests quick and easy access, via their portable device,  to 1000+ apps, including Netflix, Amazon Prime, BBC iPlayer and YouTube.

Further augmenting the guest-room content options, an Airtime VOD service was implemented on each TV, offering guests access to early-release blockbuster movie content.

And of course, no premium content offering is complete without a line-up of premium Sky channels. This was implemented via a Sky Select Bright Box and delivered from a centralised location in the hotel's comms room (no more requirement for in-room hardware), providing guests with Sky's top tier package of Entertainment, Sports and Movies, plus Sky HD.

Other features embedded on the guest-interface include a series on health and wellness videos, in line with Pan Pacific London's "Wellbeing Experience," an integrative approach comprising of in-room equipment and digital content - facilitated via the TV.

A hotel of such scope and size ideally needs to incorporate an efficient and easily managed messaging system. Airwave implemented this onto 25+ existing digital signage screens, via Otrum's signage software;. this was primarily used for the scheduling of promotional content, wayfinding, info & activities and meeting room scheduling.

We enjoyed every single second of this project and installation, I'm sad it's finished but glad to have been part of such an exciting few weeks.
