The Brand
Part of the Ennismore Lifestyle Collective, Hyde Hotels operate properties in Bodrum, Dubai, Ibiza, Johannesburg, Miami, and London.
Each property is designed with its location in mind, rooted in music culture and embodying 'the spirit of a festival.'
This festival spirit forms part of Hyde's three brand pillars (A festival vibe | Anything can happen | Part of something bigger), and fosters a sense of mystery, and a feeling that indeed, 'anything can happen.'
The Hotel
Located in the heart of London, the bohemian Hyde London City sits within the Grade II listed 15 Old Bailey building, a stone's throw from St Pauls Cathedral.
15 Old Bailey was built in 1874 and was the first hotel in London to feature electric lighting. It most recently served as offices, before a £34 million refurbishment transformed the space into today's hotel, featuring 111 luxurious guest rooms across the building's 7 floors.
Food & beverage offerings include Leydi, a modern Turkish restaurant featuring a menu curated by chef consultant Selin Kiazim, and a kitchen spearheaded by head chef Halil Simsek. The Black Lacquer music bar serves a selection of Japanese-inspired cocktails and Izakaya-style small plates.
Guests looking for a space to recharge and / or work off the calories can call upon the fully equipped Fitness Suite.
The Technology
Airwave collaborated with fellow hotel technology experts, Fluent2, on the implementation of a guest room entertainment system into Hyde's first UK property.
Work commenced with the installation of reception equipment and an IPTV headend to support the delivery of live TV channels in the recently refurbished building.
Guest rooms were furnished with flat-to-wall mounted 50-inch Samsung HAU8000 Series hospitality TVs, each embedded with a Hub Interactive guest room entertainment system.
Uniguest TV provides a fully customisable interface and access to features including:
- Hotel information (inc. room details, social channels, local area info etc.)
- Hospitality certified Google Chromecast, allowing guests to cast content from a smart device to the in-room TV.
- Links to curated music playlists curated by the hotel and housed on Spotify.
- An electronic programme guide
Airwave implemented a PMS link, allowing the hotel to provide bi-directional services via the TV, including guest messaging and a Viewbill service.
It's a real pleasure to work in collaboration with Fluent2, delivering guest room entertainment technology into Hyde's first UK property. Here's to many more!
