The Hotel

Perched on the edge of Edinburgh’s historic New Town, The Hoxton Edinburgh is set across ten Georgian townhouses, each restored with a careful nod to the city’s heritage.

Its 214 rooms range from “Snug” to “Biggy,” combining style with practicality. The bustling Patatino restaurant and cocktail bar complements meeting spaces, cosy corners, and social spaces.

Step outside and you’re minutes from the cobbled streets of the Old Town; stay in, and the buzz of the city still shines bright.

 

The Technology

For a brand like The Hoxton, style is a given. The challenge lay in delivering a system that not only looked the part but also delivered intuitive usability and cutting-edge tech to match the hotel’s forward-thinking ethos.

Having already delivered guest room entertainment systems at Hoxton properties in Holborn, Shepherd’s Bush, Southwark, and Paris, Airwave partnered with Fluent2 to bring the same expertise to Edinburgh.

Each of the 214 bedrooms was fitted with a 43-inch Samsung UHD hospitality TV, flat-to-wall mounted to preserve the guest rooms' clean, minimalist design.

Behind the scenes, a streamlined IPTV distribution system ensures reliable, high-quality service to every room, eliminating the need for unnecessary in-room hardware or multiple remotes. Powered by the EasyStream chassis and integrated with Uniguest’s HUB GRE platform, the solution provides flexibility, future-proofing, and centralised control of content, updates, and on-screen messaging.

The result: an entertainment system that feels as effortless as it is sophisticated—practical, unobtrusive, and perfectly aligned with The Hoxton’s brand. Style and substance in equal measure.

I've said it before, I'll say it again, The Hoxton is too cool for me. That said, I loved every second of this project, delivering top tier technology into a world class hotel brand.
