Radisson Hotel Group (formerly Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group) is one of the world's largest hotel groups, with eight distinctive hotel brands and more than 1,400 hotels across the globe; its Radisson RED brand currently has twenty three hotels in service or under development.
Marketed as a "hotel for the modern traveler," Radisson RED offers relaxed, upbeat and vibrant hotel environments for "tech savvy guests with an ageless millennial mindset," - incorporating communal spaces, art, music and fashion.
Blessed with riverside views and a central position within the trendy, bustling Greenwich (only moments away from the o2 Arena), Radisson RED Greenwich offers 67 modern and spacious design-led rooms, featuring 24-hour room service, rain showers and a top draw TV entertainment system - naturally, provided by Airwave.
Having recently implemented a TV system within Radisson RED's sister property in Gatwick, Airwave was delighted to follow suit in Greenwich, providing similar technology, as per the below:
Airwave initiated the project with the implementation of TV reception equipment and an IPTV headend, supplying a full line-up of Freeview channels across the hotel's data network - the system is modular based, allowing future expansion to include, for example, Sky TV or international channels.
In terms of the display technology, central to Radisson RED Greenwich's remit included:
a) A menu based TV system with scope to grow as and when the hotel requires.
b) A basic graphical user interface (GUI) designed in accordance with the Radisson brand.
c) Google Chromecast
Otrum's Mirage interactive information system offered the perfect solution, and a 6-page pack was chosen, with features including: Watch TV, Screen Sharing (incorporating hospitality certified Google Chromecast, Bluetooth Audio and Miracast, see the below image), Hotel Information, Local Area Information and a Services page - incorporating a wake-up alarm and cloud based movie app, Airtime.
To front the system, Airwave recommend 49-inch Samsung 690 Series hospitality TVs, wall-mounting each TV on BTech brackets, to ensure as slim a footprint as possible in the hotel's design-led rooms.
