Holiday Inn is one of the most established hotel names worldwide, with more than 1,100 properties across 70 countries. Part of IHG Hotels & Resorts—a portfolio spanning over 6,000 hotels globally—it combines the reassurance of a trusted brand with the scale and stability of a major hospitality group.
Built on consistency, Holiday Inn offers comfortable rooms, straightforward service, and a standard guests can rely on whether travelling for work or leisure.
The Hotel
Holiday Inn Blackpool brings a modern, international-standard hotel to one of the UK’s most famous seaside towns. Minutes from the promenade, the property puts guests within walking distance of Blackpool Tower, the Winter Gardens, and the seafront.
The hotel features 144 contemporary bedrooms, with floor-to-ceiling windows, Hypnos luxury beds, and 55-inch Samsung TVs (more on that later...) Amenities include a 24-hour fitness suite and a range of food & beverage options, from Marco’s New York Italian to the Platform 9 Bar & Lounge.
The Technology
Blackpool is packed with shows, attractions, and seasonal events. And for this centrally located hotel, the job isn’t just providing a room; it’s helping guests navigate the abundance. Step forward Airwave's guest-room entertainment technology—anchored by Uniguest Hub, a next-generation platform that turns a humble hotel TV into the hotel’s central information hub.
Each guest room was equipped with a 55-inch LG Hospitality TV, wall-mounted for a clean finish—large enough to feel premium, yet balanced for the space.
Through Uniguest Hub, every screen becomes an interactive touchpoint, with custom pages including:
- Food & Beverage hub—menus, images, and a QR-driven table-booking service.
- What’s On guide—hotel offers, attractions, and events with QR links for details, ticketing, and bookings.
- Guest services—practical hotel and local information at a glance.
- Seasonal content—launching with a bespoke Christmas 2025 page for festive meal bookings and brochure downloads; the page can either be removed or repurposed to support the next big event.


The interface's homepage brings all content together in a clean, intuitive layout, with space to highlight the property’s green credentials. A simple QR on the homepage makes guest feedback effortless, allowing the hotel's team to act on issues quickly, continuously refining the guest experience.
To complement the in-room experience, Airwave delivered a network of displays across key communal spaces:
- 4 × 55-inch LG displays in public areas
- 1 × 65-inch LG and 1 × 75-inch LG in the hotel’s meeting rooms
- 40-inch TCL commercial screen behind the bar
Blackpool is all about big attractions and busy calendars. Our challenge was to create a guest-room platform that reflects this, bringing everything together in a simple, accessible way.
